A wall is a place for things to flower
A place to put ideas to see whether they stick

I love a wall for being able to take a step back and see if things are working. It also sometimes helps me make connections between different projects. The best thing about putting stuff up is that it allows people to chip in. This is a big part of what makes studios work.
Having the work visible has been a great way to share what I’m doing with my family and they’ve given me some great ideas off the back of it, but I do miss collaborating with a group of colleagues in a real physical space.
Part of having a space for work-in-progress is printing stuff out. You just can’t beat it as a way to really see what’s happening in terms of scale and relationships.
Both things get you off your screen for a bit which is a blessing right now.
I’ve been writing a lot lately so the wall hasn’t been changing quite as much as I’d like it to. I’m off to make that right.
